Roof Snow Melt & Deicing Systems

A roof snow melt system is a smart investment that protects your gutters and roof from ice damming and snow build-up. Not only does it help prevent structural damage, but it also reduces the risk of injury from icicles and slippery surfaces.

We offer versatile systems for most roof materials, making them suitable for both residential and commercial use. With self-regulating technology, our solutions are energy-efficient and reliable.

Low Voltage

Powered by safe low-voltage technology, our systems maximize snow melting power efficiently, consuming up to 30-60% less energy.

Total Peace of Mind

The low-voltage heating elements are intrinsically safe, and there is no need for grounding devices to prevent shock.

Easy Installation

Simply nail or staple into place. Prefabrication services are available to reduce onsite installation time.

STEP Roof Deicing System

Our STEP snow melt system offers high-performance ice prevention to keep your roof and gutters snow-free. Designed with a patented, ultra-thin heating element that’s just 3/64″ thick, it seamlessly integrates with your roof.

Manufactured from a self-regulating, semi-conductive polymer with PTC Nanotechnology, it maximizes heat in cold conditions while minimizing electricity usage as it warms up.

  • ‘Set-it-and-forget-it’ hassle-free operation
  • Flexible for seamless installation
  • Energy-efficient
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Low voltage (24-50 volts) operation
  • Available for 120V, 208V, or 240V systems
  • Compatible with most roofs including metal, shingle, asphalt, rubber, slate
  • Constructed with up to 80% recycled material

Heat Tape For gutters

This advanced system automatically adjusts its heat output based on temperature changes, increasing power when temperature fall and switching off when heating s unnecessary.

This ensures optimal performance and energy efficiency without the risk of overheating, burnout, or thermal damage to gutters. The cable’s versatile design allows for easy installation in various environments, making it ideal choice for maintaining clear gutters and preventing ice dams.

  • Automatic heat adjustment or reduced power consumption.
  • Compatible with Aluminium, Copper, vinyl and steel gutters.

FAQs

STEP Roof Deicing uses low voltage power (just 24-48V), while electric cable snow melting systems use line voltage. As a result, STEP Roof Deicing operates with significantly less power consumption than electric cable systems.

It is designed to be left on continuously throughout winter, whereas electric cable systems are typically turned on and off during and after individual weather events.

STEP Roof Deicing provides such even and gentle heating that it can be used under almost any roofing type, including asphalt, rubber, metal, slate, and gutters. The self-regulating properties make it a safer and more energy-efficient choice than line voltage systems.

Please ask your installer to give us a call, or give us your installer’s name and phone number so we may contact them. We can be reached on our main office line at (866) 515-7028 or by email at sales@greenwavedist.com.

Installation information is also available in our online learning center.

STEP Roof Deicing is very easy to install. It was designed with simplicity and the installer in mind. Cut the elements to length with scissors, connect the wires, and secure them in position on the roof. You can also refer to our Installation Manual for detailed instructions.

The self-regulating polymer technology was developed in 1981 and was initially used for heated automobile seats. Since then, the technology has been applied across various industries, including flooring. Hundreds of thousands of square feet have been installed globally.

STEP Roof Deicing elements are covered by a 10-year limited warranty, ensuring years of reliable performance and peace of mind.
